11 weeks of trials, tribulations, trucks, traveling, and everything else in between all culminated at Brainerd Motorsports Park – a 1/4 mile drag strip located right off of a quaint county road in Ringgold, Georgia. What normally hosts vehicles that thrive when racing in a straight line played host to vehicles that thrive flying through the air. Unsuspecting at first glance, the fans in this “border town” between Georgia and Tennessee witnessed what was, hands down, the wildest event of the 2025 All Star Monster Truck Series.

If the updates throughout the day on social media or the picture directly above this sentence isn’t an encapsulation enough, Preston Perez (of Toxic) and Cory Snyder (of Illuminator) put in some serious work that day to earn their respective victories. Entering into the weekend, all Perez needed was a near-perfect event to kick off a Saturday in Ringgold, GA in order to secure the series championship.

A 3-way tie for first place in the best trick competition between Perez, Snyder, and competitor Elliott Miller (of High Tide) kicked off the first event, but it was a separate judge who would decide to tip the scale in Toxic’s favor. After a struggle in round one of racing, Perez fell back in points while Snyder & Illuminator shined bright (no pun intended) to take the racing win. In freestyle, both Warped drivers put on a clinic, but it was Perez & Toxic who would pull off the move of the afternoon with a stoppie off of the school bus pyramid – a move many tried, but only Perez could execute.

Despite not securing the clean sweep, the numbers did not lie after the first event that day. Perez and Toxic would secure the 2025 All Star Monster Truck Series Championship – the first ever national championship for both himself and Warped Motor Sports.

A championship winning speech full of emotion, full of support from his peers and competitors, and a roar of applause from the sold-out audience in Ringgold took place right before the 2nd and final event of the day. Perez was on house money. The series championship was now his and no one could take that away from him.

Never to be forgotten, Cory Snyder knew the mission before the night event. This was the last full time tour for Warped Motor Sports. His father & team founder Jay Snyder was in attendance along with his mother, his girlfriend, many of his friends, and over 2,000 fans ready to bear witness to the final time Snyder and Perez would line up against each other as teammates. Feeling the pressure, Snyder performed.

Fans at the afternoon event saw Snyder take a rare “tumble” as he rolled Illuminator over backwards to kick off the event. Minor chassis repairs ensued after the racing winning event for Snyder, so Illuminator was prepped and ready for the night event. What the fans in Ringgold witnessed during freestyle was truly a performance like none other – a performance some called the freestyle of the year.

Illuminator Monster Truck thrashing around the track during a freestyle performance
Nearly 3 straight minutes of no mercy driving. Never in this chassis’ nearly 5 years of service has it been beaten, bought back to life, and beaten right back down into the dirt like this. Giant leaps, cross-threaded jumps, stoppies, donuts, and of course the one aspect every fan loves in a monster truck freestyle – destruction. With the temperature gauges wound all the way up, a broken left rear spindle, and most of the body missing, Snyder book-ended an incredible tour, an incredible full-time run as a driver, and most importantly to him – an incredible chapter in his life spent with his father, the man responsible for making Warped Motor Sports what it is today.

We would like to extend our thanks to All Star Monster Truck Tour for inviting the team out for the 2025 Monster Mashers points series and allowing everyone at Warped Motor Sports an opportunity to showcase their abilities at a grand scale for the last full-time tour of the team.

We would also like to thank Preston Perez for his years of dedication, unparalleled work ethic, and great driving ability. It was due to Perez’s years of experience prior to joining Warped Motor Sports in 2022 that allowed him to not only fill the shoes of a name like Toxic, but elevate to an entirely new level. Perez shone a new light on the Toxic brand and we are very grateful for his tenure at Warped Motor Sports. We wish him nothing but the best on his new venture in the sport of monster truck racing.

A thanks goes out to Zach Winchenbach – driver of the Lumberjack monster truck who spent his off-season from racing helping out the team big time as tour crew chief. Zach’s hours of hard work paired with his driving knowledge helped keep Toxic and Illuminator running like clockwork throughout the 11 week marathon.

Last but certainly not least, thank to the fans. Without all of the supporters, Warped Motor Sports would not be the driving force that it is today. It’s never a goodbye with us, however. To the fans, we will see you at these select dates throughout 2025 (with more to be announced):

•May 31 – Boonsboro, Maryland – Washington County Agricultural Center
•August 13-14 – Gaithersburg, Maryland – Montgomery County Agricultural Fair
•August 23 – Lancaster, Pennsylvania – Buck Motorsports Park
•September 6-7 – Tappahannock, Virginia – Wind Vineyards at Laurel Grove
•October 11-12 – Mechanicsville, Maryland – Potomac Speedway
