Illuminator Monster Truck racing in Davie, Florida
After two stellar rounds of action in Naples, Team Warped Motor Sports recouped and trucked 100 miles due east to bring the All Star Monster Trucks points series action indoors – this time, at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie, Florida, just outside of Fort Lauderdale. A venue typically known for cowboys and cowgirls showcasing their talents, the fans experienced a different form of horsepower over the weekend.

Drivers Cory Snyder (of Illuminator) and Preston Perez (of Toxic) worked alongside tour crew chief Zach Winchenbach to ensure both monster trucks were ready for the new track layout. Going from a large outdoor space to the tight confides of an indoor rodeo arena isn’t as seamless as some might think. Suspension and steering adjustments are necessary, along with changing gear ratios in the quick-change transfer case so these drivers can properly utilize all 1,500 horsepower to their advantage to go for the win – and win they did.

Cory Snyder put in some serious work behind-the-wheel of the world’s first LED-outlined monster truck, Illuminator, during the Saturday afternoon event and would walk away with his first event championship of the 2025 race season, further closing the gap between his current 3rd place position and 2nd place. Snyder’s many years of experience in arena settings shined bright as he piloted the 13,000+ lbs. Illuminator monster truck to the most consistent performance of the day.

Preston Perez, celebrating his 10th season as a professional monster truck driver, struggled with transmission cooling issues over the two events. He counteracted the issue of “quantity” by stepping up the “quality” – attempting moonwalks, bicycles, and catching some great hang time to pack the most punch in a shorter performance. Despite a rollover during a bicycle attempt, this led to him maintaining the points series lead and only having minimal repairs to make afterwards.

After Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2025 All Star Monster Trucks points series, Perez and the Toxic Monster Truck remain in first place while Snyder and the Illuminator Monster Truck is sitting in third place, but both drivers plan on acquiring many more crucial points this coming weekend at Hernando Fairgrounds in Brooksville, Florida.
