In the “lose some” sense, engine issues on Toxic persisted over both events, causing Preston Perez to, unfortunately, miss a number of passes. This unfortunate spell of mechanical woes drew Perez and Toxic from the #1 position in series points down to #5. Despite all of this, Perez left his mark on the track in Brooksville and made the highlight reel for his handful of appearances in front of the sold-out audiences.
