Illuminator Monster Truck drifting around a turn for the racing victory
In monster truck racing, drivers and crew personnel truly live by the phrase “you win some, and you lose some”. For Warped Motor Sports, Brooksville, Florida was undoubtedly a personification of that phrase.

In the “lose some” sense, engine issues on Toxic persisted over both events, causing Preston Perez to, unfortunately, miss a number of passes. This unfortunate spell of mechanical woes drew Perez and Toxic from the #1 position in series points down to #5. Despite all of this, Perez left his mark on the track in Brooksville and made the highlight reel for his handful of appearances in front of the sold-out audiences.

On the “win some” side of things, Cory Snyder took complete control of the points spread at the Saturday afternoon event by securing his 2nd event championship of the 2025 All Star Monster Truck Tour. Following a handful of competition victories along the way, Snyder was able to safely move his position on the series leaderboard from third to second. The gap in the series points standings is getting tighter.

As the month of January comes to a close, both Snyder and Perez alongside tour crew chief Zach Winchenbach are hard at work down in the warm Florida weather to get the green and black destruction machine Toxic back to 100% with a freshly rebuilt engine. Illuminator will be going under the knife with some monthly drive train maintenance to take care of before the 4th stop of the 2025 All Star Monster Truck Tour.
